A statue of Patrick Henry in the middle of a garden downtown. I love the detail in this statue, especially in his hair, it looks kinda messy, not so neat.

This is a great little spot just a block away from Main Street. It offers so much for people to enjoy, such as benches to sit and talk, grass to lay under the shade, and a beautiful garden.

This is a tribute to George Washington. This statue is in the middle of a little "garden" that is surrounded by a number of historical markers. It's such a peaceful place it's hard to believe it's in the middle of a bustling city.

I was downtown taking some pictures for church when I saw this old church. I just loved the way it was towering over the trees and just commanding attention. It was such a beautiful day, there were people sitting in the little park in front of this church reading books and just relaxing.

This is just a good reminder that we should respect our County. I believe on the majority of the benches in the area parks this same thing is written.

This is a park that I like to go to and walk in the woods. It has little paths and trail that you can follow that will lead to random creeks and bird houses that boy scouts have built. This is the view from my vantage point, I'm short and things always look taller and bigger to me. This is a great place to go and think and even do some talking to God. At some point you come out to Softball fields and Basketball courts but you can't hear that while your in the solitude of the woods. It's awesome.

I was downtown the other day, and I feel like this is all I saw. I would follow these signs just so I could get to the next street over, and find that I had actually gone around in a circle. Now I'm pretty good with directions, but when I'm downtown and it's dark I am so lost.
I couldn't believe how many times I had to circle around just to get where I wanted to go, and what's more amazing is some of the deotur signs led down one way streets that were going the opposite direction than I was. I think next time I'm just going to park somewhere and walk, at least then I can go down whatever street I want to without worrying that I'm going the wrong way. Anyway I thought I would photograph the means to all of my trouble that night, it was pretty eventful.

A painting I saw on a wall. It feels so old fashioned, I love it.

This is the Brave that's coming out of the Diamond where our Richmond Braves
play. This is one of the first things people see when they come off of a bus
at the bus station across the street. I love the detail in his face, from the
lines in his forehead, to the definition in his cheek bones.

Church

This is an old church downtown. I took this picture while at the Irish Festival. I like the way the light is hitting the side of the building.

You can always tell when the season is changing around here; the local parks start putting up the volley ball nets and the courts get a fresh layer of sand. Once the weather really starts to warm up these courts will be filled every afternoon and every weekend without fail. Just outside this shot is a grill and a picnic shelter. There is also a nice grassy knoll where you can play football, kickball or just lounge under the trees.

This is from a garden in Maymont Park. Just looking at it I feel as if I'm in a different country, not in the middle of a city. One of my favorite places to go and think is on top of the rock. Spring is just begging in this picture so everything is fresh and new.

Baseball

America's favorite pastime is Baseball. It's my favoite sport of all time. Our Richmond Braves are the greatest minor leauge team...when they keep our players here and stop sending them up. Nothing is better than sitting on a hot day at the ball park smelling the grass and the dirt and listening to the sound of a ball against bat.

Sometimes it's the simplicity of life that makes me so happy. I was on a field trip yesterday with my job and I got to bring my camera along with me. I love taking pictures. Especially of nature. It reminds me of how great God is. This picture was in the Japanese Garden in this little Gazeebo looking out over the pond. Looking out this one window, things seem so peaceful. You would never know that there were 30 children behind me screaming and fighting. This just makes me calm looking at it.
