Goodbye Richmond Braves

Today we said "Goodbye" to our Richmond Braves. They are moving to Georgia. I for one am very sad, I LOVED going to the games, and it helps when you're also an Atlanta fan as well. Today they played to a sold out crowd, and by the bottom of the 6th inning we were winning 8-1. It was a great way to go out. Goodbye Richmond Braves, you've given many generations of Richmonder's memories that will last a lifetime.

Hidden Path

A nice hidden path at Maymont Park. If you're looking for it you can find it, but if you're not you can easily pass it without a second thought. It's one of my favorite places to go and get away from it all. At the top is a wodden bench where you can rest and gather your thoughts.

On my walk tonight through Echo Lake Park, I thought this tree with pink propeller seeds looked so pretty in the setting sun and the lake behind it. I love warm spring evenings!

I was at Maymont Park the other day and I came across this lady painting in the Italian Garden. It's amazing to see the things people do, I'm highly intrigued by it all. She had a nice crowd gathered around her watching her paint.

Kite

I went to a kite festival this past weekend. It was a great day to fly a kite, it was a little cold, but I think everyone there seemed to be having a good time. This paticular kite is a stunt kite flown by some professional kite flyers performing a show. I believe that these kites would actually pick me up and throw me through the air. I hope to post some more pictures from this weekend! (words of advice when photographying people flying kites; stay away from the people throwing the kites in the air to get them to fly because you get hit....alot! This happened to me TWICE!)

I visited Hollywood Cemetary today. It is so beautiful. It was a great day to be there too, with the nice weather we were having. The cemetary is so big, and so elegant. Presidents like John Tyler are buried here. This one paticular statue didn't have a name on it, it just had a simple inscription that said, "to the cross I cling". She was so beautiful standing there in the sun.

I came across this at my school today. A child's sidewalk drawing. I thought it captured childhood. I love it. Simple. Colorful.
